Client Paperwork:

Carolyn Garrett

Intern

Carolyn is an intern under the supervision of Julia Dooley, MA, LPC completing her Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree at Lindenwood University. Her background is in Military Child and Youth programs, Head Start teaching, and in child welfare case management. She currently works in University Operations at Lindenwood. Carolyn is originally from Northwest Florida and is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work.
I grew up in a military family which led me to live abroad several times, giving me valuable insight into different cultures and people. My passions are working with children and families, trauma focused care, accessibility of mental health services for disadvantaged communities, invisible disability advocacy and veteran’s mental health services. I myself come from a culturally diverse background and enjoy music, dancing, and most importantly food! My happy place is the gulf coast of Florida where I enjoy the sounds of the waves and the amazing seafood. I also love sitting on a porch swing in the northeast Georgia mountains with a good book or spending time with my Abuela in Nebraska. I look forward to using my life experiences professionally and personally to enhance others’ lives.
