Dana Laird


Dana is a PLPC working under the supervision of Julia Dooley, MA, LPC, RPT. Dana has a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Lindenwood University and holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University. Dana is a member of the ACA (American Counseling Association) and Alphi Chi National College Honor Society.

Dana is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process trauma, grief and phobias. She has used EMDR therapy with both children and adults. Dana has training in CORE Communications Skills for individuals and couples. She has specialized training in working with children and teens utilizing components of traditional and play therapy. Dana has a special interest in working with challenging and self harming behaviors as well as grief and trauma processing. Dana provides counseling for individuals as well as families.

Dana’s therapy focuses on providing care for the whole person. She believes that a person centered and a judgement-free approach provides the best opportunity for improvement. Each individual is unique and a custom approach to each client is crucial in finding the best therapeutic relationship.
