Erika Gerdine
Intern
Erika is a counseling intern under the direct supervision of Julia Dooley MA, LPC.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Alabama A&M University, I am currently studying at Webster University to receive my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am a student member of the American Counseling Association. I’m dedicated to learning and growing in the mental health field. My goal to first build genuine, trusting therapeutic relationships with clients by focusing on empathy, a non-judging environment, personal growth and well-being of the client. I believe we all have unique life experiences. I want clients to feel safe and comfortable sharing and working through life’s stressors, trauma, grief, crisis, depression and anxiety. We are all unique and how we approach life’s challenges and how we cope with them. My goal is to explore what therapeutic and coping options work best for clients.
My special interest is with holistic and spiritual counseling approaches. I am interested in working with anxiety, depression, stressful life experiences, and work with youth and young adults on healthy communication and relationship building skills.
