she/her/hers
Heather is a counseling intern under the direct supervision of Julia Dooley, MA, LPC, RPT. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Kentucky University, majoring in both psychology and sociology and is currently studying at Webster University to receive her Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is a student member of the American Counseling Association.
Heather understands how hard it can be to reach out for help, and question who to trust. She wants you to know there will be safety within your therapeutic alliance and believes there is inner strength in all of us in which hope and freedom can be found. Heather spent a week working with children in Salvador, Brazil and the experience forever changed her passion for life. She also created a theater group for children who are hospitalized as a way to inspire creativity, imagination, and create laughter. Together, she wishes to walk beside you, no matter the struggle, and plans to discover your inner strengths and goals. She believes in working within the context of your values, beliefs, and worldview with unconditional positive regard, compassion, and respect. She believes you have a voice that deserves to be heard.
Heather has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, and adults who experience anxiety, depression, and trauma.
