Lou graduated from Lindenwood University in 2007 with a degree in Professional Counseling. He has worked with children, adolescents, couples, and families. Lou has experience with self-worth issues, social anxiety and self harm, PTSD, domestic and sexual violence, addiction and co-occurring disorders, and LGBT issues and challenges: "Much of my practice has been focused on healing from trauma, and I enjoy working with a diverse group of clients with a wide range of needs". Lou believes that we all develop thinking, feeling, and doing, behaviors that are either self-defeating or become obsolete, often times as coping strategies during extreme stress. And that a sound Therapeutic Alliance allows the client to feel the safety needed to explore options for upgraded behaviors that increase functioning and life satisfaction: "I believe that I have the ability to meet the client where they are, and based on client strengths, to begin to collaborate immediately to develop a more satisfying lifestyle".
