Sydney Washington is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Educational Studies from Webster University and received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling from Missouri Baptist University. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Developmental Psychology at Walden University. Sydney has over 13 years of experience working with children and families at various capacities as a classroom teacher, case manager, mentor, intervention specialist, and therapist.
Sydney has experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, grief and loss, and adapting to major life transition. She has experience using Solution Focused Therapy and believes in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy strategies. Sydney believes that connecting with clients is one of the most important aspects of forming a trusting relationship and the most important priority in building a strong therapeutic alliance to give the client the attention they deserve, to feel accepted and respected, and allows positive client outcomes. Sydney dedicated to helping clients facilitate cognitive and behavioral changes that will ultimately improve daily functioning, increase self-image/self-esteem, promote positive decision-making skills, enhancing coping skills, improve relationships, and enhance their overall quality of life.
