Emily Smith is a counseling intern under the direct supervision of Dr. Jean Moretto, PhD, LPC. Emily received her undergraduate degree from Maryville University in Psychology/Sociology with a focus in Criminal Justice. She is currently enrolled in a Master’s program at Webster University studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her certifications include, but not limited to; Psychological First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Serious Mental Illness and Homelessness. Emily has recent experience working with a diverse homeless population including children, families, and individuals. By offering a holistic, client centered and purposeful approach to counseling, Emily aspires to provide psychological support to those unaware of the positive impacts of counseling and/or those who may not have the resources for adequate counseling. Her interests include children, youth, and the underserved population of the homeless and those previously incarcerated. She believes the client is the ‘Director of their own life’ and she wishes to assist these individuals in growth.
