Emily Smith is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) practicing under the supervision of Julia Dooley, MA, LPC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology with a focus in Criminal Justice from Maryville University, followed by a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. Emily holds certifications in Psychological First Aid, Youth Mental Health First
Aid, Addiction Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences, Strategic Planning Approach for Suicide Prevention, Serious Mental Illness and Homelessness, among others. Using a holistic and client-centered approach, Emily strives to make counseling accessible and meaningful for individuals who may be unfamiliar with mental health services or face barriers to receiving them. She has a strong passion for supporting children, adolescents, and helping underserved populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness and those reentering the community after incarceration. Emily firmly believes that each person is the author of their own story. She is committed to walking alongside clients as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and pursue personal growth.
