Intern
Mary LaFlamme is an intern under the supervision of William Collins, MA, LPC. Mary received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Webster University in 2021 and is working towards completing her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Lindenwood University. Mary has spent the last four years working in inpatient psychiatry providing assistance with activities as well as leading small groups on coping skills, developing positive mindsets, building communication skills, and other mental health topics. She encourages the use of skills drawn from Dialectical Behavior Therapy and is building competency in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Mary has interests in supporting folks who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, low self-esteem, and emotional reactivity. She believes that everyone deserves a chance to be heard and understood but also leans on the importance of collaboration that comes with the client-counselor relationship. She looks forward to normalizing our human experiences and building relationships on a foundation of compassion, empathy, and respect.
