Fern Y. Ferguson Bush received her MSW from Washington University School of Social Work in 1980. She received an MEd from UMSL in 2012 and is an LCSW. She has years of experience in issues of violence against women and children and providing counseling and advocacy for victims of sexual assault. She has experience in medical social work, child welfare to include foster care, residential care and adoption. She also has extensive experience in child care management. Client populations have included children, adults, couples and male youth involved in the juvenile justice system. Fern has also provided programing for parents experiencing severe child abuse/neglect issues.

Fern is eager to work with those who are having trouble navigating through life. Ms. Ferguson Bush believes a wholistic approach to health, attending to spiritual, emotional, social, physical and mental health needs is the best way to ensure a productive and satisfying life. She believes that we need to attend to our mental health just as we do our physical health. If we have a persistent headache, we need to find out the origin, similarly if we experience persistent anxiety, we need to find out the cause.
