Shala Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. She earned a Master of Arts in Counseling and a Master of Arts in Teaching, both from Lindenwood University. Shala began working in the Behavior Health field in 2012 as an Adolescent Substance Abuse Counselor. She has years of experience managing mental health programs in the Public School sector. She supervises therapists that are working toward licensure. Shala is now the owner of Purpose Driven Counseling, a private practice in Hazelwood, MO.
Shala has completed training in EMDR, which is designed to treat individuals that have experienced trauma, anxiety or complex grief. Shala has specialized training in modals of therapy created to enhance healthy marriages through couples counseling. Shala has a specific desire to remove barriers to mental health access for the African American community and destigmatize therapy. She offers individual and family therapy to achieve this goal.
Since mental health is not a one-size fits all approach and requires individualized treatment, a unique style of service is provided to meet each client’s specific needs. The goal is to facilitate each person toward reaching their wellness goals in a collaborative fashion. Let us work together on your journey through mental health wellness to navigate through your challenges in life. Together we can reshape your thinking and begin the healing process. Discovering your strength within can help you to claim victory over your life. Join me, as we take the first steps to restore your joy.
